Kelly Kennedy, LPC Candidate

Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (supervised by Alisa Johnson, LPC-S) with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. Kelly loves working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions or who generally feel stuck in specific thought patterns or behaviors. Kelly’s education in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy model influences her approach to helping clients. Her goal is to help clients relate to themselves in a more curious and compassionate way, empowering them to let go of reactive thoughts and behaviors and into more deliberate ones. Kelly’s training in a seminary setting has given her a unique opportunity to think about psychological healing in a theological framework. For those who desire it, she finds great joy in helping clients navigate their struggles in light of their Christian faith.

Kelly also loves helping couples in all stages of their relationship, whether it’s preparing for marriage, navigating a life transition, or seeking to repair areas of brokenness. Her training in the Gottman Method (Level 1) enables her to use exercises specifically crafted to deepen a couple’s friendship and intimacy, manage conflict more effectively, and develop a rich sense of shared meaning together.
